I feel so stupid for not discovering Microsoft Office OneNote sooner. It's heaven! And now I'm going to transfer my 39288438 word documents to one note. This is so fun!
Not really.

The Love List

01. Clothes from NIKICIO's Mixte: Volume 4

02. Thakoon's Resort 2010

03. Yves Saint Laurent's Resort 2010
I feel like changing the way I update this LJ. I need to update more with pictures, fashion, humour, outfits, art. In fact, I need to change my wardrobe and my whole style; the way I dress etc. To be honest, my whole life needs a major revamp. Unfortunately, change means money and that's something I'm a little tight right now. By the by, these are some of the things that I'm into right now.
01. Nikicio is an Indonesian designer, she studied Fashion Design at LaSalle College of the Arts in Singapore which I'm aiming to get into if possible after graduating. Her clothes are every levels of awesomeness.
02. There are a lot of Resort theme collections flooding my friend's list. And I really love the laid back look in Thakoon's Resort 2010. Is it just me or the model looks just like Alexis Bledel?
03. I don't think it's even remotely possible to go wrong with YSL.
04. I really love French fashion. It's chic and these collections remind me of Audrey Hepburn for some reason.
05. I can't believe I love coffee so much these days. I think I'm getting old. My taste buds are changing or should I say evolving. I'm in love with Starbuck's Grande Caramel Frappuccino. I would choose a Venti instead but I think there are holes in my pockets.

I've been busy with school, projects, life etc. I have five days of school and I kind of regretted my decision to take two electives because I could have taken one and still have one day off. However, the good news is that next semester, I'll only have three days of school and two days off. This semester, my modules are insanely insane. I have Photography & Digital Imaging which is kind of cool, I didn't expect to get it. Then, I have Wearable Technology, Concepts of Persuasion, Creative Media Enterprise and Sci-Art & Site-Specific Art. My Final Year Project (FYP) is driving me nuts. My group has to create a product or furniture using recycled materials. I know it sounds easy but it's my FYP and they expect something really good. At least one good news is that most of my lessons start at ten.
The song that calms me this week is Waltz (Better than Fine) by Fiona Apple
If you don’t have a point to make
Don’t sweat it / You’ll make a sharp one being so kind
And I’d sure appreciate it / Everyone else’s goal’s to get big headed
Why should I follow that beat being that I’m / Better than fine

I just got back from my cousin's wedding ceremony. The wedding will be three days long but I don't think I'll be going to the dinner tomorrow at the bride's place. I'll go on Sunday at my cousin's place. Some pictures were took by me and some by my Dad. Sorry for the blurriness, my digicam is old. Most of the couples pictures were taken by my Dad.

There were parts where my cousin had to repeat whatever he was reading because the bride was interrupted by some people. The bride had to raise her voice to answer a question because the groom couldn't hear her answer. The lights went out but overall the wedding went smoothly and it was great. On the way back to my cousin's place, my uncle and some of my aunts karaoke-ed in the bus. The bus driver actually took a longer route just so they could have extra time karaoke-ing. It was really cool.
I wish the best for the newlyweds!

SATURDAY:
On a rainy day at three in the afternoon I stood outside a bookstore at the train station observing commuters bustling in the crowd. People on their way back home, people on their way to their destination away from home and even people like me; waiting for somebody. Eca showed up and we boarded the train to our destination; wherever our feet takes us. It took us to a bus stand for free shuttle bus. We waited for hours and hours only to realise we were standing at the wrong spot all along. The rain had subsided so we decided to tail some folks who were previously waiting for the bus, hoping that they were going to the destination we were heading. We came across a majestic flight of stairs. Halfway up the stairs we were exhausted and wondered if we were in the right path. It turns out we were right. We saw the place and it was crowded with people. We entered the premises and were pushed and shoved by bargain hunters; the space was dimly lit; we could barely see the things in front of us; we couldn't even feel the air-conditioning but we managed to snake our through it all and came across a stall selling vintage dresses for ten bucks each.
We left the flea market with a bag full of our newly purchased garments. We bought two large ice Milo and one large french fries at McDonald and chatted a bit. We were beaming and glowing with the joy of our new purchases. We ended up at a shopping mall nearer to home and went in a store selling everything for two bucks and bought some stuff. I went back home and was exhausted beyond words. I couldn't feel my legs and it hurts to walk but it was worth it because it was such an experience.

I will not fall in love with the places you have been.
I will not fall in love with anything but the words that flutter from your extraordinary mind."

It's 1:12 am and I'm not yet sleepy. Or am I not sleepy yet? Maybe I am sleepy. I've changed my layout override after a million years (i.e. a few months? a year? It's been awhile). I rather like it.

Cupcakes:
I went over to Renie's place last Sunday to help her bake some cupcakes. I was tremendously thirsty throughout that day. I drank three cartons of Chrysanthemum tea one after another. I ended up home at around 11 P.M.
( I had a nice daydream today )
I'm going to start reading Let The Right One In by John Ajvide Lindqvist even though I still have yet to finish On The Road. I always have multiples books to read at any one time so it's pretty normal. I gave Sima her birthday present too but forgot to take pictures of it. It's just a scrapbook/journal of sort titled: The Many Jolly and Ebullient Escapade of Irksome and Dreary1. I had fun doing it and I realise now that I forgot to give her one more thing. I shall give it to her soon.

1 Irksome and Dreary is our favourite word to represent our profligate, squandering and decadent school life which she has unjustly graduated. Hers: Irksome. Mine: Dreary.

Ok, so I finally finished reading The Time Traveler's Wife today, five minutes ago. Initially, I thought the title name was cliché, vague, predictable but decided to buy it anyway. After reading the first few pages of the book, I was hooked and proven wrong. I wittingly took my time with the book, not wanting it to end but it did anyway. Because as the old saying goes, all good things must come to an end. Now that I have finished reading the book, it is a gem, a paragon. Henry and Clare felt real to me and I wanted them to be real so badly.
I'm put off by the fact that there will be a movie adaptation of the book. I found out about it after finishing the first chapter of the book and was curiously surfing the internet to find out more about the book. I shouldn't have done that but it happened. I'm not going to prattle on that but I just have to say that the casting is definitely different from what I envision.
Nevertheless, the book is astonishing, astounding, remarkable, staggering and all of the other synonym that follow suit. I love all of the poems references in the book, it fits and makes it more heartrending. Last poem I came across from the book that ends the entire story perfectly.
Now from his breast into his eyes the ache
of longing mounted, and he wept at last,
his dear wife, clear and faithful, in his arms,
longed for as the sunwarmed earth is longed for by a swimmer
spent in rough water where his ship went down
under Poseidon’s blows, gale winds and tons of sea.
Few men can keep alive through a big surf
to crawl, clotted with brine, on kindly beaches
in joy, in joy, knowing the abyss behind:
and so she too rejoiced, her gaze upon her husband,
her white arms round him pressed as though forever.
-from, The Odyssey
Homer
translated by Robert Fitzgerald
The last time I cried attributable to a book was when I read The Kite Runner and that was three years ago. The Time Traveler's Wife made me weep again.
